‘AP Minister Atchan Naidu sending kickbacks regularly to CM Chandrababu Naidu’ 

Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday alleged that AP Minister for Transport K. Atchannaidu and his supporters were involved in large-scale corruption and harassment of local YSRCP leaders.

Addressing a public meeting in Tekkali as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in the Srikakulam district, he said he was sending kickbacks regularly to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a public meeting at Tekkali on Saturday.son and Minister for IT Lokesh. He alleged that the Minister’s loyalists were collecting bribes from people even to sanction loans, pensions and toilets constructed under the open defecation free programme.

Mr. Jagan expressed concern over the inordinate delay in the payment of compensation to victims of the Titli cyclone. “Mr. Naidu is giving wide publicity for his success over cyclones. It is foolish to claim that his real time government was far better than the reports of the Indian Meteorological Department and ISRO. He even claims that he was able to control nature and sea. He is trying to boost his image while suppressing the facts at the ground level,” said Mr. Jagan.

He assured to do justice to the unemployed youth and other sections of society if his party was voted to power. “Many students are facing difficulties with the delay in the implementation of fee reimbursement scheme. Why is this issue not tracked through real time governance?”

Nitish backs Naidu’s demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday backed the demand of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for special category status to the southern state. Supporting the demand of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief over the demand at the Niti Aayog Governing Council meeting, the Janata Dal United (JDU) leader demanded the same status for Bihar, where he is in power in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Naidu also got the backing of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the issue of 2011 census being adopted by the 15th Finance Commission. The TDP chief also made a request to the Centre to “not penalise the performing states”.

NitishNotably, the TDP chief had walked out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre over special category status to Andhra Pradesh. He had accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of not fulfilling its promise of providing the status to the state.

Inaugurating Mahanadu, the TDP’s annual conclave, Naidu had said that the Centre had reneged on its promise to grant Andhra Pradesh Special Category status and to implement the AP Reorganisation Act. Naidu accused the BJP of betraying the people of AP and trying to create law and order problems in the state in collusion with the YSRCP.

The TDP had in March 2018 withdrawn support from the NDA government over the Centre’s refusal to grant special category status to the state.
